Google Looker Studio, formerly known as Google Data Studio, launched in 2016 as part of the Google Marketing Platform.

It has now been rolled into the Google Looker suite of products, after Google bought data analytics startup Looker in February 2020.

Whatever you want to call it, Looker Studio is a product that, in Google’s own words, lets you “turn your data into informative and fully customizable dashboards and reports that are easy to read and share.”

Out of the box, Google provides 23 ‘connectors,’ which allow Looker Studio to connect to a number of Google’s own products, like BigQuery, Google Analytics, Campaign Manager, Google Ads, Google Sheets and Search Console, as well as some useful non-Google products such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

However, the power of Google Looker Studio is its ability to present your analytics and performance data from a wide variety of popular platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Microsoft Advertising (Bing) and even TikTok Ads.

Sadly, Google doesn’t provide connectors for those 3rd-party services, which is where Supermetrics comes in. They specialise in developing connectors to integrate Data Studio with these popular services.

They also provide connectors for pulling data into Google Sheets and Google BigQuery.

At present, they offer around 119 different connectors, with the number growing all the time. The likelihood is, if you’re using a popular service and want to connect it to Looker Studio / Data Studio, they’ve developed a connector.

We’ve produced a number of guides explaining exactly how to use Supermetrics to pull your analytics data into Google Looker Studio. We currently have guides for the following products:
