In early 2017, global aerospace behemoth Airbus wanted to launch a campaign to promote their new Airbus A400m military transport aircraft at aircraft trade shows around the world.
Dubbed #INPLANESIGHT and dreamt up by Cardiff-based advertising agency S3 Advertising, the campaign encouraged visitors to the airs hows to take photos of the new A400m, be it on the ground or during its flights around the airfield, and enter them into a competition for the chance to be featured on the front of ‘Aerospace’ magazine, as well as undertake a flight simulator experience at Airbus’s manufacturing site in Sevilla.
We worked with S3 to build the competition site for Airbus. The site allowed users to select from one of three categories, then upload their photos. Once uploaded, the team in the Airbus marketing department could view all the photos, filtered by category, approve them for display in the competition gallery, and then choose a winner.
The competition was a resounding success and has continued for a second year. The competition site itself has been taken over by S3’s own internal team for 2018.
